Waking Windows – What started as a small twelve-day long festival at the Monkey House, in 2011, has blossomed into an annual music festival featuring dozens of musical guests (many local). Don’t miss drag queen story hour, food trucks, live performance art, screen printing, film screenings and more! The next festival will be held from May 7-9^th 2021.

Winooski Farmer’s Market

Though it has concluded for the season, the Winooski Farmer’s market is typically held on Sundays 10am to 2pm from mid-May to mid-October. In front of the Champlain Mill, vendors from all over the area come to sell their wares. Bring your reusable bag and go to town!

Wolfsgart Air Out

This annual car cruise and rally gathers automotive enthusiasts to celebrate automotive history. Complete with a VIP parking area, drink and food specials at local eats, live music, and professional photography, downtown Winooski comes alive!

Heritage Winooski Mill Museum

As a former textile mill town from 1838 to 1954, the mill museum holds artifacts, models and videos provided by former mill workers.

Take a Walk

Scenic Winooski Riverwalk

Explore the beautiful Riverwalk of downtown Winooski. Just 6/10 of a mile long, the walk includes views of the falls, the dam, and ends in Salmon Hole Park.

Table Service

Decorate an extra table laying around the house and set it on your sidewalk or the end of your driveway. The more festive, the better. Set out a big bowl of your favorite individually wrapped treats and let the fun begin! Just remind guests to approach one at a time. This alternative works well - you can either set it and forget it or hang out in your lawn chair and wave hello!

 

Make a Chute

What better way to serve candy from inside your house then a DIY candy chute! Use whatever you have available for the chute. Sturdy cardboard, PVC pipe, and strong craft rolls will work best for structure - bonus points if it’s see-through. Be sure to decorate it with lights and all your favorite Halloween characters. The kids will have a blast watching the candy fly through the chute!

 

Turn it into a Game

This one is sure to attract attention! Fire candies or other treats right from your front porch or window. Use whatever you have around, maybe it’s a slingshot, t-shirt cannon, Nerf gun, or all of the above. Whoever gets the most trick or treaters to catch a piece in their buckets wins. Or, make a bullseye in the front yard! Who doesn’t love a little Halloween themed competition?
